CEO Martin Ondeko Leaves Uganda Cricket Association

Martin Ondeko has ended his three-year tenure as as Uganda Cricket Association (UCA)’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Ondeko made the development official on Friday 25th February through his Twitter handle.

“My innings at Uganda Cricket Association come to an end on 31/03/2022. I have been privileged to serve the game that gave me so much. It’s now time for someone else to carry on. I take great friendships and memories from the job and will now enjoy the game as a fan,” Ondeko wrote.

Ondeko has been at Uganda Cricket Association for over 13 years, but served as CEO for only three years. He joined UCA as an administrator and later became the Operations Manager.

In 2019, he took over the CEO mantle from Justine Ligyalingi. During his reign, the Cricket Cranes were crowned champions in Rwanda last year while the U-19 team qualified for the World Cup after 15 years.

As a player, he featured for the U-19 team at the 2004 World Cup in Bangladesh and also played for the Cricket Cranes.

“The recruitment for a new CEO will start immediately as Uganda has to start preparations for the Challenge League B tournament they will host in June,” read a statement from UCA.
