Cape Town City hand former Orlando Pirates left-back new deal!
Cape Town City are busy sorting out their internal affairs before they can begin the recruitment process for the 2023-24 season.

The Citizens have now announced that former Orlando Pirates left-back Marc van Heerden will still be at the club next season after penning new one-year deal.
The news comes a few days after City handed Khanyisa Mayo a new five-year deal which will see him contracted to them until June 2028.

Now, Van Heerden has been rewarded for his contribution to City last season, and given his age (35), it makes sense that he was handed a one-year deal.
Cape Town City took to their social media platforms on Friday morning to announce the retention of Van Heerden.

Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo has been named the best player in the DStv Premiership for the month of June by the league.

Mayo scored twice during the month of May as Cape Town City went on a three-match unbeaten run – two wins and a draw.
The speedy left-footed striker netted a brace against Richards Bay FC as City registered a 2-0 win on 13 May to keep their top four dreams alive.

Overall, Mayo scored 12 goals and provided two assists to finish the campaign as the joint top goalscorer alongside Peter Shalulile.
