Cabinet Dissolution: Bold and decisive action, says Atwoli

The Central Organization of Trade Unions, Kenya, COTU (K) has said it fully supports President William Ruto’s move to dissolve the Cabinet.

In a statement COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli termed the move as a bold and decisive action saying it is a modern approach to addressing the grievances and aspirations of the Kenyan people.

Atwoli said it is within time for the President to have a team that not only defends the policies of the government but also effectively articulates the needs and priorities of the nation.

This following the decision by President Ruto to dissolve the entire Cabinet and the Attorney General, leaving out only the Principal Cabinet Secretary and the Deputy President on Thursday afternoon at a press briefing in State House.

Atwoli noted that Kenya requires leaders who are servants of the people and not bosses full of ego and hungry for Power

“The challenges we face require a Cabinet composed of competent and experienced Kenyans who are committed to serving the interests of all citizens and also answer telephone calls from members of the public for accountability purposes and consultations and notably what Kenya requires are Servants of the People and not Bosses full of Ego and hungry for Power.” Said Atwoli.

He urged the President to prioritise national unity and inclusivity as he embarks on the process of forming a new Cabinet.

“The new Cabinet should reflect the diverse fabric of our society, ensuring that it must be all inclusive and broadly representative.” Stressed Atwoli.

Further he assured Ruto that the Kenyan workers stand firmly behind him in this endeavor adding that: “The President has our full support as workers as he takes this momentous step to rebuild and strengthen our beloved country.”
