But, there is hope though as a number of netizens have shared their fool-proof recipes to getting rid of mozzies in minutes. Plus it can be easy made at home with a few simple ingredients

Homemade mosquito repellents can be made by mixing any of the below essential oils, which also contain antifungal and antibacterial properties.

Coconut oil
Neem oil
Eucalyptus oil
Lemon oil.
Tea tree, spearmint or mint oil
Lavender oil
Lemon or lemongrass oil
Clove oil
Citronella oil
Eucalyptus oil

The oils can be rubbed into your skin and reapplied every 8 hours to remain effective.

If you love sitting in the outdoors, but hate being bit by mozzies you can use your garden as a natural mosquito repellent.

Plants that naturally repel mosquitoes include sage, bee balm, marigolds, lavender, geranium, mint, thyme, eucalyptus, lemongrass, basil and rosemary.

Lemon Grass (ކާސިންޖީ) can b used as a natural insect repellent. U can use it 2 deter mosquitoes with its strong scent. Plant it along walkways & in locations close to seating areas. Note: it’s not a mosquito control solution but provides some form of repellent against mosquitoes

This can be done by equal quantities of apple cider vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Add any of the essential oils mentioned above and you instantly have a homemade mosquito repellent spray!

You can use both white vinegar and apple cider vinegar as natural bug repellent. Insects are not particularly fond of the overpowering scent. You can spray it on your skin, around your tent and around the campsite to deter mosquitoes and other bugs from taking up residence.

Citronella laced candles have a strong smell, but do little to effectively keep mosquitoes away from long periods of time

Instead, you can create your own mosquito repellents candle by placing a tea light candle in a glass filled with lemon and lime slices and a few twigs of rosemary. Add in some lemon eucalyptus oil and light the candle for the scent to become stronger.

You can create your own fruity mosquito repellents by placing cloves in citrus slices around your home, or even outdoors.

The fragrance will not only keep mosquitoes away, but flies, bees and wasps too!

Last night my family and I sat at the garden and decided to put a test to this idea that a Clove-spiked lime apparently is a weapon to deter mosquitos and flies. So we tried and tested. Surprisingly and magically it has worked. Did you know this?

Knowledge is power !
