EFF’S MPHO MOROLANE JOINS MK PARTY
Earlier on Wednesday, Morolane who had been a member of the EFF for 10 years said that he was leaving the party after over 10 years of membership, “to pursue a different path”.
“It is with great difficulty that one has decided to step away from a decade-long affiliation with the Economic Freedom Fighters. My service to the organisation has been with humility, integrity and respect,” he said.
Morolane is the third prominent member to leave the EFF in recent weeks, following in the footsteps of former EFF MP Mmabatho Mokause, who announced her departure at the weekend.
Before that, EFF co-founder, deputy president and Julius Malema’s long-time friend Floyd Shivambu resigned to join the MK Party. He has since been appointed as the national organiser.
“Welcome comrade Mpho Morolane to the MK Party Your genuine and legitimate passion for the liberation of the black majority and Africans in particular can never be doubted. You’ve always been on the side of the people!” Shivambu wrote on X following Morolane’s announcement.
