Bobi Wine Promises Free Masks to Butaleja Supporters

Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, the presidential candidate of the National Unity Platform (NUP) has promised free masks distribution to the people of Butaleja, if voted into power.

“I am a Member of Parliament and we passed a budget for masks for all Ugandans. I see most of you don’t have them,” he said.

“It’s because the people in government stole the money, when I become the president, I will make sure that all of you have masks,”

In June this year, the Parliament passed a supplementary budget of Shs81bn for making and distribution of free masks to all Ugandans, although the distribution did not cover the entire country.

While in Busia, Bobi Wine challenged the residents to support him even though he does not have the financial power as President Museveni.

“Mr. Museveni can be defeated, I’m sure because he brought more than Shs80bn in Kyadondo, we beat him, he brought more in Jinja we beat him, he did the same in Bugiri but we still beat him and in Arua as people were voting, we were in Makindye army barracks but we still won,” he added.

Asking them to vote with confidence, Bobi Wine said, “It means that even if they kill me, things are irreversible right now. We are here to show Mr. Museveni the power of the people.”
