A total of three Presidential candidates have so far decided to suspend their campaigns in solidarity with Hon Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and Hon Patrick Amuriat who were arrested on Wednesday.
The first Candidate to suspend the campaigns was Rtd Major Mugisha Muntu who was followed by John Katumba and later Gen Henry Tumukunde.
In his statement, Gen Tumukunde said his campaign was in consultation with fellow leaders of all change forces to determine the best course of action.
“All candidates have a right to be seen, the right to be heard and the right to express their vision for the country in a free and fair election.
Police said yesterday said Bobi Wine and Amuriat were arrested for mobilizing assemblies and processions amidst the threat of Covid-19 in Uganda.
However, on Wednesday night Police released Patrick Amuriat while Kyagulanyi remained under detention at Nalufenya Police.
Kyagulanyi is expected to appear in court any time on Thursday to face charges related to doing an act likely to spread infectious disease.
