Bobby van Jaarsveld, wife split after 13 years: ‘Best for both of us’
A month after Rachel and Siya Kolisi announced their separation, another much-loved celebrity couple is set to divorce: Anna and Bobby van Jaarsveld.
The Afrikaans singer – the brother of Karlien van Jaarsveld – shared the sad news on their social media accounts.
Bobby and Anna have been married for 13 years and have three children together.
BOBBY VAN JAARSVELD AND WIFE TO DIVORCE
Over the weekend, Bobby van Jaarsveld and wife Anna announced the sad news of their divorce.
He said, “Sometimes unconditional love looks different than what meets the eye. After much consideration, Anna and I made the most difficult decision of our lives—to end our marriage. The decision was not taken lightly, but after much time and consideration, we believe it is best for both of us right now.
The couple- who met as teens – added: “We have shared so many wonderful moments and years together and will always love each other and care for each other. God has blessed us with three beautiful children, and they will always be our first priority.
Bobby and Anna emphasised their commitment to co-parenting: “Even though our relationship as a couple changes, we are both committed to raising our children together as friends with the same love they have experienced so far.”
The former couple appealed to the public to give them privacy during the difficult period.
HOW DID THEY MEET?
Bobby van Jaarsveld and Anna – a businesswoman – began dating when they were both 17 years old.
They met in grade 8 while both attending Brits High School. In 2011, they married in a star-studded wedding.
In 2009, Bobby wrote the song Annatjie, which was dedicated to his wife and life partner.
He’s also posted several heartfelt Instagram posts praising his partner.
In 2019, Bobby, Anna, and their three children moved to a seaside home in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal.
