Black Queens face tough challenge in 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers
The Black Queens of Ghana have drawn a challenging opponent for their quest to qualify for the 2026 Womens Africa Cup of Nations.Under the leadership of coach Nora Hauptle, the team will meet the winner of the first-round tie between Rwanda and Egypt in the second round of qualifiers.The second-round matches are slated to occur from October 20 to 28, 2025.The qualification format involves 32 teams in the first round, with the top six ranked teams according to FIFA rankings exempt from this stage. These six teams include Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Ghana, Cameroon, and Ivory Coast.Following the first round, the sixteen teams that advance, along with the six exempted teams, will compete in the second round.A total of eleven teams will qualify for the final tournament based on their performance in this phase of the competition.The Black Queens will be eager to secure their place among the elite teams in Africa.
