Black pupil ‘humiliated’ – after school made him BOW to white classmate

This is a real sickener. Officials have rushed to condemn Milnerton High School for ‘humiliating’ one of their black students, after he was forced to make a grovelling and degrading apology to a white learner.

‘Disgusting’: Black pupil forced into humiliating apology

The Western Cape Provincial Department of Education is now investigating the matter thoroughly, but the early details emerging from the school are genuinely eye-watering…

The two male pupils involved had a fight over a bench during break time last week.
School officials handled the matter themselves, concluding the black student needed to apologise to his white counterpart.
However, the school’s disciplinary committee told the black youngster to ‘get on his knees’ and ‘bow to his classmate’.
The incident happened in front of other learners, and the victim was also made to raise his hands up and down.
The pupil stated that he had been ‘stripped of his dignity’ following this ordeal.
Human rights group Amnesty SA has condemned the altercation in its entirety.

We are shocked to hear about a disturbing report between learners and teachers at Milnerton High School where the head of the school’s disciplinary committee allegedly made the black pupil get on his knees and bow to the white pupil after an argument over a bench.

Western Cape school under fire for ‘racist incident’

The Chairperson of the Select Committee on Education and Technology, Sports, Arts and Culture – Elleck Nchabeleng – branded the incident as ‘shocking and disgusting’. He has told investigators to leave no stone unturned with their work, and urged everyone at Milnerton High to publicly condemn this blatant act of racism.

“It is extremely shocking and disgusting to learn about incidents of this nature taking place at schools that are supposed to be places where seeds of non-racialism and non-sexism are sowed. The committee condemns this alleged humiliation in strongest terms and it should also be condemned by all at Milnerton High.”
