Black Galaxies recorded two friendly wins on Wednesday as they ramped up preparations for their 2024 CHAN qualifier against Nigeria next month.Coach Mas Ud-Didi Dramani’s side secured a 5-2 victory over Great Olympics and followed it up with a 2-1 win over Attram De Visser at the University of Ghana Stadium.In the first match, Hearts of Lions striker Mustapha Yakubu led the way with a brace, complemented by goals from Issah Yakubu, Nsoatreman FC’s Rahman Mohammed, and Asante Kotoko’s Saaka Dauda.The second match saw Ghana U20 talent Jerry Afriyie score a stunning overhead kick, while Hafiz Ibrahim added another to seal the narrow 2-1 win over second-tier side Attram De Visser.These friendly matches are part of the Black Galaxies’ preparation for their upcoming TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 qualifiers against archrival Nigeria.The first leg is set for December 20-22, 2024, in Ghana, with the return leg scheduled between December 27-29, 2024, in Nigeria.Ghana last edged out Nigeria in a nail-biting penalty shootout to qualify for the previous CHAN tournament, fueling expectations for another fierce two-legged showdown.The winner of this tie will book their place in CHAN 2024, set to be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
