The Bishop of Kabale Catholic Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callistus Rubaramira has ordained Six priests, seven deacons and 10 Acolytes in a mass celebrated in St. Mary Rushooroza Cathedral on Saturday.
Rev. Fr. Augustine Tumushime of Sooko parish, Fr. Placid Mugumya of Nyarushanje parish, Rev.Fr.Achillies Tumukurate Rubanda parish, Rev. Fr. Deogratias Tubiheruhanga of Rwanyana Parish, Rev Fr. Vinlent Turinawe of Maziba parish, and Rev Fr. Deogratias Mwebembezi of Muko parish were ordained in a low key ceremony witnessed by a few selected parishioners in the first religious ceremony in the diocese since March 18 when Church functions and activities were suspended over the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Bishop Rubaramira asked the ordained priests, deacons and acolyte to preach the gospel of repentance, comfort and pray for the sick.
He also warned them against preaching divisive gospel and asked them to focus on the gospel that will bring development and peace among the people.
The Christians were also asked to guide the new priests and to avoid tempting them since they are human beings like them.
“This is not a simple task but I am appealing to the Christian’s to always pray for us the church leaders as we fulfil God’s work; not to just laugh at us when we go astray.”
