Bishop Bagamuhunda Commissions Children’s Church In Kabale

The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi Rt Rev Eng George Bagamuhunda on Sunday commissioned the newly constructed St James Kijuguta church of Uganda Children’s Church in Kabale municipality.

The church was constructed by the   former Kabale Municipality Member of Parliament Andrew Baryayanga Aja at a cost of about Shs 400million.

While dedicating the church, Bishop Bagamuhunda asked parents to fight for the rights of their children and also explain to them the dangers of engaging in acts of pornography, alcoholism, drug abuse and early sex.

He also warned parents against television and smart phones as tools to keep their children busy in the holidays, arguing that some children learn bad practices from them.

On his part, Baryayanga said he started the constriction of the church in 2017 after noticing that children were who came to church used to sit in a tent.

He also says that he did it to thank God for blessing him and his family.

“This is the least I could; when children are groomed well in the church, vices that are eating up the country like corruption, nepotism, drug abuse, pornography can be fought,” he said.

Baryayanga pledged to continue building and mobilizing fellows to embrace working for God.
