Benni McCarthy talks Kaizer Chiefs
Benni McCarthy recently discussed Kaizer Chiefs in an interview.
Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates legend, Benni McCarthy recently left English Premier League side, Manchester United.
He was the Red Devils attack coach. Moreover, he even coached the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo during his time in Manchester. Now, he discusses Kaizer Chiefs current situation and how he relates.
MCCARTHY COMPARES CHIEFS PRESSURE TO UNITED
Manchester United and Kaizer Chiefs face very similar situations.
They are both fallen giants. Moreover, they both have massive followings (a huge fanbase). Meaning, Amakhosi and the Red Devils face huge pressure to succeed and return to the top. Finally, both sides continue to sign players and bring in coaches with little no success.
“Definitely, because Kaizer Chiefs, and at Orlando Pirates, they are historical teams in our league, you know,” he added.
“So when you play at a Chiefs, like at United, there’s so much pressure, so much demand, even from the fans, more than where it is anywhere else,” McCarthy told iDiskTimes.
BENNI IS A FREE AGENT
McCarthy is currently a free agent. Meaning, he is unattached and able to join any club that he wants.
So, what does the future hold for the Bucs and Bafana legend?
McCarthy has been linked with a move to the MLS in the USA. Meanwhile, reports emerged linking him to Sundowns. However, those rumours appeared to be just that, rumours. Meanwhile, he has expressed interest in coaching a top team in Africa.
Furthermore, McCarthy wants to be head coach. He does not want to resume a role amongst the technical team or assistants.
