Athletics: UAF Clears Five for Tanzania Marathon

Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) has cleared five athletes to compete in the forthcoming NBC Tanzania marathon slated for 22nd November 2020.

The contingent left on Thursday evening by road to enable them reach in time and also recover from travel fatigue before lining up for the Sunday competition.

Uganda will field three runners in the 42km marathon including Priscilla Chelangat, Phillip Kiplimo and Vicent Chelimo.

Doreen Chemusto and Julius Ochieng will meanwhile feature in the half marathon (21km) race. The race will also attract athletes from Kenya.

The marathon is geared towards raising money for fighting cervical cancer in Tanzania at Dar es Salaam Ocean Road Center.

After the NBC Tanzania marathon, Team Uganda will end this year’s calendar with the 11th National Mountain Running Championship scheduled for 28th November in Kapchorwa.
