Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Frederick Asare dropped from Black Stars squad

Frederick AsareGoalkeeper Frederick Asare, who had been a consistent presence in the Black Stars squad since March, has been omitted from the latest selection announced by head coach Otto Addo in Accra.Asares recent dip in form at Asante Kotoko, especially during the clubs first defeat of the season to Legon Cities, has contributed to this decision. His performance led Kotokos coach, Prosper Ogum, to replace him with Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara for the following match against Heart of Lions.Asare had been closing in on his Black Stars debut, making this exclusion a significant setback. He will now need to focus on regaining his form at the club level to earn another opportunity with the national team.Taking his place in the Black Stars squad is Abdul Nurudeen, who has returned to the national team after becoming the first choice in the last five games for KAS Eupen in Belgiums Challenge Pro League this season.Nurudeen will hope to contribute to Ghana securing wins over Angola on November 15 in Luanda and Niger three days later. The victories are important however, Ghanas qualification for AFCON 2025 will also depend on Sudans results, as Ghana must rely on Sudan dropping points in their remaining matches to secure a place in the tournament.
