According to Captain Olubodunde Oni, spokesman for the Brigade, the troops will conduct a shooting exercise at the military range in Jimlari from today, September 17, to Thursday, September 19, 2024, as part of their Annual Range Classification Phase 2.

The exercise aims to enhance the troops’ weapon handling and maintenance abilities. However, residents are warned to expect massive movement of troops and equipment, including live ammunition firing at the Military Range.

To ensure public safety, the Army has implemented adequate measures. Residents are advised to stay away from the 114 Battalion Rear Jimlari Shooting Range area during the exercise.

Similar military exercises have taken place in other parts of Nigeria, such as Gombe and Oyo, to improve officers’ skills and maintain peace.

The Nigerian Army has also established new battalions, including the 114 Battalion in Taraba State, to stabilize the region.
