Arewa group backs Zamfara Governor, urges unity
The Arewa Peace Foundation (APF) has thrown its weight behind Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, urging critics and stakeholders to put aside their differences and work with him to restore peace and stability in the state.
At a press conference in Kaduna, Bello Abdulhamid, APF’s Director of Publicity, praised Governor Lawal’s leadership, saying he has brought hope to Zamfara after years of violence and socio-economic challenges.
The group commended the state government’s efforts to enhance agriculture and farming, address banditry, and improve education.
The APF called on the public to ignore anti-state utterances and instead support Governor Lawal’s efforts to develop Zamfara.
The group emphasized the need for synergy among stakeholders to bring the state out of its challenges and achieve sustainable development.
Governor Dauda Lawal, a seasoned banker and politician, took office on May 29, 2023, after defeating incumbent Governor Bello Matawalle in the gubernatorial election.
His administration has made significant strides despite initial distractions and minimal resources left by the previous government.
