Pitso Mosimane, who has won back-to-back CAF Champions League titles, is entering the last 12 months of his contract with the Egyptian club, and has yet to confirm an extension.
However, El Khatib has said Mosimane just wanted assurances about his position, and also revealed that he was in line for a well-deserved salary hike.
Pitso highly valued at Al Ahly
“Mosimane didn’t ask for a salary increase, he wanted to feel safe about his position, that’s why we increased the release clause from three to six months,” El Khatib told OnTime Sports as per KingFut.
“With elections starting soon, we preferred to postpone the contract extension talks, but the coach didn’t ask for a salary change. However, he does deserve an increase after his achievements with the club.” El Khatib continued.
