Ajaero’s arrest: What DSS source said
A source from the Operatives of the Department of the State Service, DSS, has reacted to the arrest of the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero.
In an interview with our correspondent, he said he had no comment on the arrest of Ajaero but requested our correspondent to send and official request for comment to the email address of the secret police.
Recall that DSS on Monday morning, arrested Ajaero at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Reports said Ajaero was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom, UK, for an official assignment when DSS picked him up.
But reacting to his arrest, DSS source said: “A DSS official who was contacted by our correspondent at 1:03 pm on Monday, said he had no comment on the arrest of Ajaero but requested our correspondent to send and official request for comment to the email address of the secret police.
“It will be recalled that the DSS last week decided to scale back on Media visibility and opted to concentrate on its core mandate of covert operations to enhance national security.
The erstwhile director of Public Relations and Strategic Communications, Dr. Peter Afunanya was redeployed to continue his work elsewhere”.
