Airtel Money and Stabex International partner to boost cashless transactions

 

The Airtel Money Operations Head, Hope Ekudu(L) fueling one of the motorbike winners in the ongoing Vroomula Amajja campaign by Airtel Mone aimed at boosting cashless transactions across the country. This was today at the partnership announcement between Airtel Money and Stabex International to boost cashless transactions and enhance digital financial inclusion among Ugandans. Through this partnership winners of motorbikes and the grand prize of the Toyota Hybrid will also receive a full tank of fuel from Stabex fuel stations across the country.

Kampala, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT |  Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda (AMCUL), has today partnered with Stabex International, a renowned fuel distribution company, to boost cashless transactions and enhance digital financial inclusion among Ugandans.

This collaboration will allow Airtel Money customers to conveniently pay for fuel and access other services at any Stabex fuel station in Uganda using Airtel Money – and also win several prizes including a new Toyota RAV 4 Hybrid and motor bikes.

While announcing this partnership, the Airtel Money Operations Head, Hope Ekudu said, “We are excited to partner with Stabex International to further promote digital financial inclusion in Uganda. Airtel Money has always been committed to delivering innovative, secure, and borderless financial services to our customers. Through this partnership, our customers can now make cashless transactions for fuel purchases and access other services at Stabex fuel stations across the country using their mobile wallets.”

Hope Ekudu added that, “This partnership will also allow Stabex customers making cashless payments to enter a draw for a chance to win exciting prizes in our ongoing nationwide Vroomula Amajja campaign. These prizes include a brand-new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid sports utility vehicle (SUV), motorbikes, and e-money.”

According to the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) 2024 Quarter 2 report, mobile money transactions have risen to 1.84 billion, up from 1.72 billion in the previous quarter. This growth underscores Airtel Money’s ongoing efforts to promote cashless transactions by encouraging Ugandans to use their mobile wallets for a variety of services, including sending money, depositing or withdrawing cash, mobile banking, bill payments, Airtel Money Pay, international money transfers, airtime purchases, and fuel payments.

“The growth in mobile money transactions has inspired us to partner with Airtel Mobile Commerce Uganda to simplify fuel purchases and other services we offer. At Stabex, we are always seeking ways to provide our customers with greater convenience and value. “We are also excited that our customers will be rewarded for using cashless payments through the Vroomula Amajja promotion. Additionally, we are proud to announce that the winners of motorbikes and the grand prize of the Toyota Hybrid will also receive a full tank of fuel,” Kiptoo added.

This partnership is an addition to the other initiatives Airtel Money has undertaken to promote cashless transactions and highlights the ongoing Vroomula Amajja campaign that is changing the lives of Ugandans. Over 2,000 Airtel Money users have been rewarded with various prizes, including 52 motorbikes worth UGX 200 million and daily cash rewards for cashless transactions.
