AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Otto Addo shoulders blame for Angola loss
Ghana coach Otto Addo has shouldered the blame for his side’s loss to Angola in their opening game of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. The Black Stars failed to extend their impressive unbeaten run at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday on Thursday as Angola with a stoppage-time strike claimed all three points.Addressing the press after the game, Otto admitted that the Black Stars could have done better while admitting that his substitutions were late.”When you lose you are the bad guy. But I take it. After the game, everybody knows more. Maybe we could have done better with the changes. The second half was really good,” he said.”I think a least a draw would have been deserved but this is football,” he added. The Black Stars will look to bounce back in their next game against Niger on Monday, September 9, in Berkane, Morocco.
