Black Galaxies squad named for CHAN qualifiers against Nigeria
Black Galaxies coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has announced a 26-man squad for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria.The squad is headlined by defenders Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Nurudeen Abdulai (Medeama SC), Kusi Asante (Vision FC), Isaac Afful (FC Samartex 1996), and Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC).Midfielders Emmanuel Antwi (Asante Kotoko), Manuel Mantey (Medeama SC), and Ibrahim Hafiz (Attram de Visser) are also included, alongside forwards Charwatey Faisal (Nations FC), Jerry Afriyie (Thoughts FC), Issah Yakubu (Basake Holy Stars), and Albert Amoah (Asante Kotoko SC).Black Galaxies will face Nigerias Super Eagles B in the first leg of the CHAN qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at 16:00 GMT (4 pm local time). The return leg will take place in Nigeria on Saturday, December 28, 2024.As part of their preparations, Black Galaxies secured a 1-0 victory over Togo in a friendly match last week. The CHAN tournament, set to take place in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in 2025, will see Ghana and Nigeria meet for the second consecutive time in the competition, after Ghana won on penalties two years ago to earn a spot in the last edition.
