Drake reportedly loses R6m after betting FOR Mike Tyson
Canadian hip-hop superstar Drake reportedly placed a $355,000 pre-fight bet on Mike Tyson to beat Jake Paul.
Unfortunately for him, it was the 27-year-old YouTuber/boxer, who came out victorious on Friday evening at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. All three judges ruled the fight in favour of Paul, with scores of 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73.
After the match, many fans applauded Mike Tyson’s resistance against Jake Paul given the fact that he was 30 years older than his opponent.
Millions gone as Mike Tyson disappoints Drake
Drake is known to put on lucrative wagers on boxing events and in most cases, he appears to be on the losing side. In August, the ‘One Dance’ hitmaker placed a $450,000 bet against South African MMA fighter Dricus Du Plessis. DDP went on to beat former UFC champion Israel Adesanya.
Friday’s win improves Paul’s professional record to 11-1 while dropping Tyson to 50-7. After the fight, the 27-year-old was full of praise for Iron Mike.
First and foremost, let’s give it up for Mike Tyson. It’s such an honour. He is a legend, he’s a goal,” Paul said after the fight as per NBC News.
“He’s exactly what I thought, one of the greatest to ever do it, I look up to him.”
Tyson was asked if he was officially done boxing.
“I don’t think so,” Tyson said on the broadcast. “Maybe the brother (Logan Paul), he said after the fight.”
Should Drake stop betting?
