Breaking: Jake Paul hands Mike Tyson defeat
Mike Tyson’s in-ring return ended in defeat as Jake Paul won by unanimous decision.
Paul won the match by 78-74 in front of a packed crowd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday night. The YouTuber landed 78 punches compared to Iron Mike‘s 18 after eight rounds.
This event was streamed live globally, exclusively on Netflix.
Both fighters exchanged punches in the first round, with Jake Paul appearing sharper of the two. The 27-year-old used the ropes as a defensive strategy to evade Tyson’s early attacks. However, by the third round, Mike Tyson seemed to have exhausted his energy, despite landing a few solid hits on Jake Paul.
Eventually, the former heavyweight champion was outclassed in the latter stages of the fight but did well to survive until the eight round.
Mike Tyson and Jake Paul fight til the end
After the match, many fans applauded Mike Tyson’s resident against Jake Paul given the fact that he was 30 years older than his opponent.
“It goes the distance. Jake Paul has clearly won. Really tough watch on all parts to say the least,” said.
“Scoreboard 78 -74 lol he barely bested a 58 year old man at the age of 27 in the boxing ring … like he is 30 years younger lol,” @DaricCott tweeted.
