2025 AFCON qualifiers: Black Stars to open camp in Accra for Angola and Niger games

The Black Stars of Ghana will begin their preparations this weekend in Accra for their final two 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.Players involved in weekend fixtures are expected to arrive in Accra on Sunday and will take part in a light training session later that day.Ghanas penultimate qualifier will take place in Luanda, Angola, on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Estdio 11 de Novembro.Three days later, the Black Stars will host Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium for their final match on Monday, November 18.Currently sitting third in Group F with just two points from four matches, Ghana faces a challenging road to qualification. The Black Stars are five points behind second-placed Sudan and 10 points adrift of leaders Angola. With qualification now out of Ghanas hands, the team must win both of their remaining matches and hope for Sudan to drop points to have any chance of advancing. If Sudan secures a draw in their final games, Ghanas hopes of reaching the AFCON for the first time in 20 years will be extinguished.
