Kaizer Chiefs star Sirino’s Bafana Bafana chance dented by Broos
Kaizer Chiefs star attacker Gaston Sirino may never get to play for Bafana Bafana despite all the noise in the media.
And that’s because he is NOT the type of player Broos wants in his Bafana Bafana although he’s deemed important to Chiefs.
With Themba Zwane out injured, Sirino was campaigned for by a section of football fans to make the Bafana Bafana squad.
He was born in Uruguay but he’s never represented his country at senior national team level which makes him eligible for Bafana Bafana.
However, Broos is not convinced, and more over, he feels Sirino (33) is old and the Bafana Bafana coach wanted someone younger.
Broos named his latest Bafana Bafana squad that will face Uganda and South Sudan on 15 and 19 November respectively on Thursday.
KAIZER CHIEFS STAR SIRINO: WHY HE MAY NEVER PLAY FOR BAFANA BAFANA
“I know that Sirino is a very good player. I know also that he can be very important for Chiefs but he’s not really the type of player I want [in the Bafana Bafana squad],” said Broos on SABC Sport TV.
“Secondly, he’s 33. I was looking for months to have somebody else for Themba [Zwane] because of his age.
“So, I don’t go to take another older player. No, I want to find younger players than Sirino, even though he is a good player. But he doesn’t really match my ideas of football,” concluded Broos.
