Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum charges players to work harder for success
Prosper OgumAsante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has urged his players to work diligently to meet the high expectations set for the club.Ogum believes that with focus and determination, the Porcupine Warriors can challenge for titles by the end of the 2024/25 season. The previous season was a disappointing one for Kotoko, as they finished 12 points behind champions FC Samartex and narrowly avoided the relegation zone by just five points. This poor performance led to a significant reshuffling of the squad, with over 20 players departing and more than 11 new signings joining to bolster the team.Despite the challenges, Kotoko has started the new Ghana Premier League season on a positive note, securing a 1-0 victory against Karela United in their opening game in Nalerigu.”We should expect this team to do very well by the end of the season, to play well, and win more games,” Ogum emphasized. “Kotoko is known for winning games. And if you coach or play for Kotoko, you know that its a task you need to accomplish.”He added, “You must play well and win games. So, yeah, we shouldnt boast; instead, we need to work harder, stay determined, stay focused, and get the job done.”Asante Kotoko will aim to continue their strong start when they host Young Apostles on Sunday in match week three of the Ghana Premier League in Obuasi.
