PS Muthoni leads mosquito nets distribution exercise in Narok

Public Health Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni has launched the distribution of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) in Narok County.

The PS who was accompanied by Narok Deputy Governor Kiprono Tamalinye noted that Malaria situation the country remains critical hence the need to put in place preventive measures.

Muthoni flagged off Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLIN) to households in Narok County as part of this year’s malaria campaign.

Since November 2023, a total of 12,477,909 nets have been distributed across 18 counties, reaching 3,941,247 people.

In Narok, 212,575 households are registered to receive 739,956 LLINs as part of this year’s campaign, aiming to cover 1,504,422 people in the county over the next three years.

“This initiative demonstrates our dedication to protecting public health. By providing widespread access to these nets and encouraging their regular use, we aim to significantly reduce malaria transmission rates and improve the overall health of our communities,” said PS Muthoni.
