Hearts of Oak confirm departure of three goalkeepers

Hearts of Oak have officially announced that they have parted ways with three of their goalkeepersRichard Attah, Richmond Ayi, and Eric Ofori Antwijust ahead of the new season. The announcement was made by head coach Aboubakar Ouattara during a press conference on Thursday. The decision ends speculation that began after the trio was notably absent from the squad in their recent Democracy Cup match against arch-rivals Asante Kotoko. Those players (Richard Attah, Richmond Ayi, and Eric Ofori Antwi) are no more with us, Ouattara confirmed.Richard Attah and Richmond Ayi have been crucial to Hearts of Oaks recent successes. Attah, who joined the club from Elmina Sharks in 2020, and Ayi, who arrived from WAFA in 2019, were key figures in the teams domestic treble during the 2020/21 season.Attah served as the first-choice goalkeeper and played a significant role in that victorious campaign.Eric Ofori Antwi, who signed last summer, struggled with injuries throughout the season, which limited his impact. In response to the departures, Hearts of Oak are reportedly negotiating with Great Olympics Benjamin Asare and are also in talks to bring in Abdulai Iddrisu, who is currently out of favor at Simba SC, to bolster their goalkeeping options for the upcoming season.
