2025 AFCON qualifiers: Otto Addo eulogises Kwesi Appiah ahead of Sudan clash
Otto AddoBlack Stars coach Otto Addo has expressed admiration for Sudan trainer Kwesi Appiah ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers clash.The Black Stars will engage Sudan in a doubleheader in October as the quest for a return to the tournament continues.Appiah coached the Black Stars in two stints, including leading the national team to the World Cup in 2014.”I have big respect for Kwesi Appiah for what he has achieved as a player and also as a coach for Ghana and I am looking forward to this game,” he said during the announcement of his squad for the matches next week.Ghana lost their opening game against Angola in Kumasi before settling for a point against Niger in the second Group F match.Addo is focused on winning both games to revive Ghana’s chances of qualifying for Morocco 2025.”To be honest it doesn’t matter who is on the other side. We are looking at our team, we are trying to prepare ourselves as best as possible. In this game it is mostly about us, our attitude towards the game and this is what we are looking at,” he added.Ghana will face Sudan on Thursday October 10, 2024 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
