2025 AFCON Qualifiers: I ask for your support – Otto Addo implores Ghanaians ahead of Angola clash
Otto AddoBlack Stars head coach, Otto Addo, has called for support ahead of their game against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.Ghana will be hosted by Palancras Negras in the Matchday five games of the qualifiers at the Estdio 11 de Novembro with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 GMT.According to Otto Addo, supporting the team boosts players’ confidence, whereas the countless attacks from fans can distract players and affect their performance. He appealed to Ghanaians to tone down on the criticism and rally behind the players as they seek to beat Angola.”I ask for your support. When players feel at home, they’ll give their best. But in a toxic environment, it’s difficult for them. They’re human, and we must support them. We all want Ghana to win and succeed,” he said. The 45-year-old also outlined the technical team’s strategies to ensure players’ comfort and confidence ahead of the game.”Our technical staff will try to make them feel at home, to make them feel good and also talk about the negative and positive moments in our previous games. Because there were lots of positives from the matches we have played and we created lots of chances and now, we have to work on them to be able to score, he added. With only two points gained from four games, Ghana risk missing the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. However, Otto Addo and his charges have been offered a lifeline after Niger defeated Sudan 4-0 and must now win against Angola and Niger to qualify.
