2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Ghana coach Otto Addo remains optimistic despite poor start
Ghana coach Otto Addo has maintained a positive outlook following the Black Stars’ disappointing 1-0 defeat to Angola in their opening 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.Despite the setback, Addo believes Ghana can still secure a spot in the tournament, which will be held in Morocco next year.With Angola and Sudan leading the group after their victories, Ghana is now playing catch-up.To qualify, Ghana must finish among the top two in their group.Addo, however, is encouraged by the team’s performance in the second half of the match.”The second half makes me very confident we can qualify,” Addo said.”The good thing is that it’s all in our hands because we still have to face all the teams in the group.”Ghana’s next challenge will be against Niger, and a strong performance in this upcoming match will be crucial for their qualification hopes.
