2024 NGO Awards honour celebrities’ social impact
Several prominent Kenyan celebrities have been nominated for the 2024 NGOs Awards under the “Celebrity Champion of the Year” category.
Among the nominees are comedian Eric Omondi, journalist Janet Mbugua, and media personalities Baba Talisha, Karangu Muraya, and Ndungu Nyoro who are popular for their contributions to social and community causes.
The NGO Awards are organized by the Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority (PBORA), previously known as the NGOs Coordination Board.
In collaboration with Awesome Concepts Limited and other partners, PBORA will host its inaugural awards ceremony on November 29th.
The event will honour Kenya’s leading NGOs and notable individuals working towards social development and positive community impact.
The Awards aim to recognize and celebrate exceptional non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other individuals making significant strides in sustainable development.
Voting for the shortlisted NGOs is currently open on the official NGO Awards website and will close on November 24th, giving the public an opportunity to vote for their favourite organizations.
After the voting period ends, a final evaluation will take place from November 24th to 28th.
The overall scores will be determined by combining public votes (70%) with judges’ evaluations (30%).
The awards will feature 10 Sector Awards and 13 Excellence Awards categories, celebrating diverse achievements across the non-profit sector.
