In preparation for this year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN), Uganda Cranes national team on Monday arrived in Tunisia for a training camp ahead of the continental showpiece.
The 40-man contingent boosting of 15 officials and 25 players (three goalkeepers, eight defenders, four midfielders and ten forwards) touched base at the Tunis Carthage International Airport this afternoon aboard Emirates Airlines flight EK 747.
The team will had an evening training session yesterday in Sousse, Tunisia. This training camp follows eleven days of rigorous training initially held in Kampala before the team departed on Sunday.
While in Tunisia, the team will have at least three friendly matches lined up with the aim of fine tuning the players for CHAN.
Uganda is in Group B alongside Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal and Ivory Coast.
This will be the sixth time Uganda will be featuring the finals of CHAN having played at the 2011, 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020 editions.
The 2023 TotalEnergies CHAN tournament is scheduled for 13th January – 4th February 2023 in Algeria.
