2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Hearts to open league campaign game against AshGold on Nov 24
Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak are set to begin their Ghana Premier League campaign against AshantiGold SC on November 24, 2020, on matchday two, the Ghana Football Association has announced.The Phobians were stopped from honouring their opening fixture against Aduana Stars on Saturday November 14 2020, due to reported cases of coronavirus.The team had allegedly contracted over 30 cases of coronavirus forcing organizers to postponed the game for the safety of the players and officials involved.Hearts of Oak have been grounded in Dormaa since Saturday after the game was called off by the GFA for further COVID-19 tests to be carried out.The Phobians had already announced that three of their players including striker Abednego Tetteh had contracted the COVID-19 before the team departed to Dormaa for the game.According to reports, the contingent that travelled to Dormaa for the game undertook a COVID-19 test on Tuesday and are expecting the results to be out by close of work today.The results when released will determine if the team can travel to Accra to continue with preparations ahead of the second league game against AshantiGold SC.In a statement released by the GFA and signed by the General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, the Phobians will play against the Miners on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.It will be the last game to be played in the second round matches of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.Meanwhile, the Ghana Premier League continues this week with some big games coming up on Friday.Matchday two matchesFridayEleven Wonders vs Ebusua DwarfsGreat Olympics vs Legon CitiesSaturday Bechem United vs WAFASunday Berekum Chelsea vs Asante KotokoKarela vs Inter AlliesElmina Sharks vs LibertyDreams vs MedeamaKing Faisal vs AduanaTuesday Hearts vs AshGold
