14 goals, 10 assists: Kaizer Chiefs to sign Orebonye?

Are Kaizer Chiefs going to finally find a hot striker next season? It might be a name from our neighbours Botswana.

People like Hlompho Kekana said it long ago. Amakhosi will not win anything without a goalscorer. Ranga Chivaviro was thought to be the solution last season but he faced too many injuries to change Kaizer Chiefs’ fortunes.

As plan B, the 25-year-old Colombian striker Jasond Gonzalez arrived but he was just not good enough for the DStv Premiership.

According to new reports, Kaizer Chiefs have found a target. Incoming coach Nasreddine Nabi has recommended the Motswana international Tumisang Orebonye who has scored four goals in 15 goals for AS Rabat in Morocco.

“New Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi will recommend the signing of Botswana international striker, Tumisang Orobonye, who’s also at ASFAR,” Unplayable reported.

In coaching news, Amakhosi have reportedly secured French coach Fernando Da Cruz as a free agent to assist Nasreddine Nabi. The 51-year-old is set to arrive in Johannesburg this week to begin pre-season as Nabi’s assistant coach.

“Da Cruz is now expected to arrive in Johannesburg this week to begin to lay the groundwork for incoming coach Nasreddine Nabi,” SABC Sports’ Mazola Molefe reported.
