$100m Africa tech fund to be launched at Evolve Conference ─ Awuzie

Nigerian South African-based businessman and convener of the Evolve X Conference, Charles Awuzie has said that it was time to convert the rivalry among Africans and African countries to economic growth through strategic business mentorship and investment partnership.

The thought leader and founder of Gemsbok Group recently made this known through his verified Facebook page while announcing the industry leaders, mentors, speakers, panellists, and celebrities that will grace the Evolve Conference in Lagos next Friday (September 27).

Awuzie stated that during the annual conference, which is in its second edition, they will launch a $100m Africa Tech Fund targeting African innovators from Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Zambia, among other African countries.

He further stated that the Evolve Conference and Exhibition will present Africa and the world with a unique opportunity to catalyse international trade, foster intentional living, and drive technological advancement across the continent.

Awuzie further stated that the conference is a platform where dreams evolve into reality; and a forum to connect with key decision-makers, showcase innovations, expand horizons, build valuable relationships, and drive sales and leads.

“This platform will facilitate knowledge exchange, showcase innovative solutions, connect industry leaders, network mentors and mentees, and ignite cross-border collaborations and funding mechanisms,” he added.

According to the convener, they are expecting thought leaders, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, celebrities, tech enthusiasts, policymakers, and young professionals who aim to champion innovation and drive sustainable development.

“They are serious-minded chasers. So, know that whomever you will be connecting with in the conference has a certain level of capacity,” he stated.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the conference, Ossai Ilome, noted that the conference will offer a space for personal growth and skill enhancement, and empower individuals to lead transformational change in their industry sectors.

Ilome stated that they are confident that, with Africa’s vibrant potential, the Evolve Conference and Exhibition will serve as a beacon of progress.

The convener, Awuzie, revealed that beauty queens and other popular Nigerian celebrities will be attending the conference.

The beauty queens are 2014 Miss United Nations and Nollywood actress, Dr Precious Chikwendu; 2024 Miss Universe   Nigeria and model, Chidimma Adetshina; 2024 Miss Kwara, Ufa Dania; among others.

Awuzie further revealed that Dr Precious Chikwendu will be the conference’s host.

According to him, this year may be the last time the Evolve X Conference will be held in Nigeria, as they plan to rotate the conference across other African countries.
