Nigeria’s Super Eagles
seem to have discovered
its winning streaks in the
ongoing Angola 2010
Nations Cup finals with their
poise to take on the
Chipolopolo of Zambia
tomorrow.
Speaking ahead of the
game, the trio of Osaze
Odemwingie, Obafemi
Martins and Chinedu
Ogbuke have revealed the
team’s resolve to fly over
Zambia in the crucial
quarterfinal game.
“Our fans, and indeed, all
Nigerians should
understand that all the 15
teams here have come to
Angola to lift the Nations
Cup.  In other words, all the
teams came for victory just
like us.  There is no
gainsaying the fact that we
have hit championship form
and I am convinced we will
fly over Zambia,”
Odemwingie noted.
Martins who scored
Nigeria’s third goal after
Osaze’s brace added:
“Initially, there was injury
and may be fitness problem,
but everything has been
taken care of and there is
no going back.  Football is
unpredictable but with
determination, we shall
overcome Zambia. ”
Most Nigerians will continue
to remember Ogbuke for his
beautiful strike against
Egypt in the Group C
opener.  Although, Nigeria
lost 3-1, Ogbuke was quite
exceptional.  The
Bundesliga-based forward
is also optimistic that Eagles
is now in super form and
may likely dismiss Zambia
and fly into the
quarterfinals.
To make it to this stage,
Nigeria finished second
behind Egypt, losing 3-1 to
North Africans and beating
Benin Republic 1-0,
Mozambique 3-0 in that
order.
