Do not put all your eggs in one basket. Is the saying of old age that encourages you to mitigate risk by spreading yourself out instead of relying on one thing. Ask any broker and they will tell you putting all your money in a company is very risky and is rarely the right move. When only rely on one source, if something bad should happen you have nothing else to fall back on. At day's end, most people would agree this is common sense.

Enter the Google era, where many webmasters seem to have launched this conventional logic aside in favor of Google-tunnel vision. It is true that Google is the world's most popular search engine today reaching 380 million unique users per month. According to ComScore Media Metrix has a 42.3% share of the search market. These numbers should make webmasters stand up and pay attention, but do not let them neglect everything else.

Many SEO (search engine optimizers) only talk about getting high rankings in Google, as if that is the only way to direct traffic on the web. SEO view the Web in a broader sense, and instead, treat Google as a piece of the puzzle (albeit an important piece). SEO good to recognize that although most searches can be caused by Google, there are a lot of website visitors and potential customers from other engines that deserve some attention too. Fortunately, many search engines determine the importance of a site with similar criteria, so the optimization of an engine that will give a boost to everyone else. But if your SEO ranking reports gives you only say that Google may be time to start asking what range of other engines. After all, no webmaster is willing to say a client comes from a website that Google is a customer who does not!

Enter your name in the Web directories

Traffic to your website and customers can come from everywhere, so you always want to make sure that customers who seek will find. There are lots of different web directories on the Internet. Some catalog all kinds of sites, while others focus on a particular market niche. By taking a little time you can launch a web directory that lists all directories that your potential visitors may use. Best of all, many web directories will allow you to submit your site for free, so this is a cost-effective way to generate targeted traffic. The best directories are those that offer a direct link to your site. In this way, your directory campaign also becomes a link campaign capacity, and increase your ranking in the engines of most search, including Google. (Two birds with one stone, not bad!)

Finding the niche sites

The site was built based on the links. This is how Internet users move from one place to another, after an endless stream of information. You need to take advantage of this by making sure your site is linked along this path. If you are selling t-shirts, trying to find a site that is dedicated to the theme of t-shirts (or fashion, in this case). In these times, it is almost certain to find a site with resources of the shirt. Find ways to generate a link to your site from theirs. If you have some marketing dollars to spend, you may be able to buy text ads or banner, which will also provide a link to your site. You can send a quick email, politely asking the webmaster to trade links (after all, you want sites to link too!) Or maybe you can help in any way the content and include a link to your site in your author's biography. There are a lot of different approaches you can take, and as long as you come to a link to your site, you will increase the likelihood of attracting visitors who are following that path information.

The World Wide Web is a big place and only getting bigger. You must spend a significant amount of resources to the most important traffic drivers, like Google, but should not fall into a trap that is the only thing you can trust.
