It would be interesting to know what happened since then. However, I would have said if the guy really loved his wife, he would have waited for her to finish school. Her success is his, and his is hers, all for one, and one for all, so they often say.

He should understand that no man or woman without a challenge, but I think the girl at school would have accorded him respect by obeying. Because this is where he is getting discouraged, if his wife can't obey him at this stage what would happen if she finally becomes full wife.

Obey? As in obeying the 10 commandments (if you are familiar with the bible) or the ruler/king? Is this how we view interrelationships amongst ourselves Africans?

this is whole thing lacks one important element of human relation and co-existence. Communication. The guy in question lacks communication. Well the best bet for him is to respect the culture, if it permits divorce traditionaly otherwise he will live with a wife he cant control.
