Anything sent to a decision if they sell, not just state facts. When performing a job search, your cover letter and resume in a pile to decisions to review, one by one, along with a large number of other documents submitted by other people of hope. The likelihood that the document is the first in the stack are about a zillion to one! This means that the decision has probably read X number of letters (and back) before reaching the set of documents. With this in mind, do not recommend starting the letter with the phrase used in many other letters:

"In accordance with its recent ad in the New York Times for the post of Contador Mayor, I am enclosing my resume for your review."

BORING! Furthermore, decision making, probably just read the same (or very similar) sentence of five dozen times. Remember that you want to call the attention of decision-making and sell them.

Since the letter is designed to market to potential employers, not the obvious. If the letter does not create a sense of excitement and entice the reader, is a waste of your time to write and a waste of time for the reader to read.

Keep track of how many times he uses the words "I" and / or "me." After writing the letter, take a pencil and circle all the years I and my in the letter, more than five? It's time to rewrite some of the phrases.

Here is an example of how to do it: instead of writing ". I am looking for an opportunity to move forward with a new employer My background is in managing retail and I am well qualified for the position of manager of the store with his company "can write" A background in retail management and the proven experience of delivering results as a store manager, are key elements in qualifying me for consideration as part of their team. "

Remember that the purpose of the letter: to highlight your experience in the right light, sell your skills and show the potential employer that you are worthy of an interview. Explaining what you WANT throughout the letter does not tell the reader the benefit of what it can offer, it is imperative for you to succeed.

One technique I like to use in cover letters is to get 4 or 5 achievements and mention them as a list with the lyrics. It serves as a wonderful focal point for the eyes of readers and immediately draws attention to your strengths. Here is a brief highlight in what would naturally be a longer letter:

... Recognized as a top-performer and dedicated professional, my record of accomplishments include: · Generating a 58% increase in new business during tenure as Regional Advertising Director • Encourage the media coverage of 50% customer and development partnerships with media contacts previously unsecured

There are many ways of saying things, but as you can see, some words have more impact on readers than others. In letters, and resumes, and resumed the traditional, you can change the reader's perception in a heartbeat by substituting various words or phrases more traditional (and outdated) verbiage. See the diagram below:

No aggressive verbiage

Set up entire department from scratch
Worked closely with department heads
Helped produce $ 3 million in sales
Helped new employees
The deep knowledge of capital markets and corporate finance
Marketing Department assistance and offers strategies
Reduced expenses by 10%

AGGRESSIVE verbiage

Department established from the beginning through the successful operation
Relationships thrive on the department heads
Instrumental in generating $ 3 million in sales
Aided new employees
Experience in capital markets and corporate finance
Actively participated in formulating marketing strategies
Reduced (or cut) expenses by 10%

In short, aggressive writing makes sizzling, while passive writing it in Decemberea his "history." Remember that your goal is to effectively market itself, not the author of his biography work.
