I guess its born out of creativity, it is call low waist.
Ok! Low waist? thank for correction! I understood it evolve from USA. When some kids were released from the children juvenile center. they were not given their belts back, so go about without belts and leaving their trousers sweeping the ground and below the waist! its also, away of showing their stubbornness to the authority.

How long has this act been into existence?, it seems to be more common these days. You rare see any secondary school male student without this style of dressing.

I think 15-20yrs ago! This a demon that has infitrated our society. If at school, teachers are also into it. How can it be corrected? Morals are not taught at schools again. The next thing we should examing, if we want to know how long it has been around. First, in the old, our fathers put ropes in their sokoto "trousers" to make them look smart, when they wear native attires. You will notice in the military, when enemy is captured, the first thing they do is to remove their belts. Its a sign of surrendering. And also, when a criminal is captured, the first thing the police do is to removed the belt and make trouser to drop, so that the criminal will be busy always holding his trousers up. Its a show of shame, downgrading. So with all these, we can see where this demon of low waist style emanated from. Now! The next question is how can we minimise this human degrading style from our society?

Just like any other thing that move from one original meaning to different meaning eg some dictionary words, I think this very fashion has moved from the intended meaning to dressing style as such we should accept it that way as just dressing style.

Thank you for the enlightenment. To minimize it could be done be educating the younger one the really meaning of what they're doing, as most-if not all are doing it for fashion sake not for it real meaning. If not I'm reading it here I had been seeing it as just another dressing pattern down the street.

@kodo, with all these so call modern style that sometimes you can not differentiate bw a normal and a mad person on the streets! Lets reason together! Is a good thing to display the type and color of panties you are wearing? Is it a convenient to be struggling with your trousers as you cross the road? Am sure very soon, people will be going naked on the streets in the name of fashion. Hmmm! Is it not the signs of endtime? It embarrases me as a person. A person thats mindful of the kingdom of God will not conform to these type of style.

The bible says, my people are being destroyed for lack of knowledge! Must we follow a wrong trend because others doing it. The bible says in proverbs, when you know something is good and you did not do, is a SIN.

I have to admit, I have often fancied it, putting on tight white female boxer shorts and a pair of blue dropping jeans, with a short white tight t-shirt showing cleavage, white tennis shoes and spending the night out dancing. what is that I have fancied, I don't know. I haven't actually got around to doing it for two reasons: 1. got no money to buy such attire. 2 got no money to spend the night out dancing or whatever. is it a shame? I don't know.

We are what we think, if look at it as a degradation this what people get, but if look at as just a dressing style it remains so.
