Understanding how fiber optics are made and the role of applications in everyday life is a fascinating work of art combined with science. The optical fiber is manufactured with materials that transmit light and make a bundle of very thin glass or plastic fibers into a tube. One end is a source of light and the other end is a camera lens, used to channel light and images on the curves and corners. The optical fiber has a core of highly transparent glass or plastic surrounded by a deck called "liner." The light is stimulated by a source at one end of fiber optics as light travels through the tube, the coating is there to keep everything inside. A bundle of optical fiber can be bent or twisted without distorting the image, as the coating is designed to reflect light images from inside the surface. This light source optical fiber can carry light over great distances of communication, ranging from a few centimeters to more than 100 miles.

There are two types of optical fiber. The single-mode optical fiber is used for high speed and long distance transmission as they have very small cores and accept light only in the axis of the fibers. Small lasers send light directly into the fiber, where low-loss connections for bonding fibers within the system without degrading the signal significantly brighter. Then there are several operating modes that have larger nuclei and accept the light of a variety of angles and can use various types of light sources. multi-mode optical fiber connectors also use less expensive, but can not be used as long-distance single-mode optical fiber.

The optical fiber has a wide variety of applications. The most common and widely used in communication systems, fiber optic systems have a variety of communication features that make it superior to systems that use traditional copper cables. The use of fiber optics to these systems use a greater capacity to carry information on those who are not bothered by electrical interference and require less amps then the copper cable systems. Optical fiber systems are installed communication networks in large fiber bundles around the world and even in the oceans. Many fiber optic testers are available to provide you with the best fiber optic equipment.

In communication systems with fiber optics, the laser is used to transmit messages in numeric code by flashing on and off at high speeds. This code can be a voice or an electronic file that contains text, numbers or pictures, all using the optical fiber. Laser light many joined in a single optical fiber that allows thousands of data streams that pass through a fiber optic cable at a time. These data travels through the fiber optics and interpretation devices to convert the messages again in the form of original signals. Industries also use fiber optics for measuring temperature, acceleration, pressure and tension, from a variety of other uses.
