How safe is your computer? Could be in danger of getting a virus on your system? How real is the danger? What steps do you take on your case?

During his visit by one of my students, I realized that your anti-virus software was more than seventeen months old and had never been updated. After informing her that she should update your anti-virus software regularly, I was totally surprised. Furthermore she had no concept that it was essential to ensure the security of your system. So I thought it wise to write about some of the precautions you should take to avoid becoming infected with a virus.

While there are many "virus" hoaxes, and please do not pass any of these jokes about how are you, may actually contain viruses, computer viruses do not pose a very real danger. So I've listed the preventive measures you should take to ensure the safety of the equipment.

Some may require you to register again at the end of the year, but the software and updates will remain free.

3. Be careful not to download files from Internet. Make sure you download from sources well known and reputable. Make sure your anti-virus software is configured to scan files as they are downloading. I have that feature enabled on my anti-virus program and scan all files when I'm in the process of discharge, and on occasion prevented me from downloading a file that was infected or pose a potential hazard. These programs work to take advantage of the security of your anti-virus provided by the use of all security functions.

4. New viruses creep on a daily basis. It is important to back up your important files regularly. CD and DVD have a lot of information. Take advantage of this store and your valuable data and software in these removable disks. In the event that a virus should never invade your system and can replace corrupted files with the backups.

5. Finally apply the rule soon: "In case of doubt, do." If you are unsure if this is an unknown source in your email or a website that offers a download, then you better take no chances. There is no email or free software is worth the damage to your computer files and the time and cost of repairing your PC. Do not be fooled, computer viruses do not affect everyone.

The Internet offers a variety of software, services, entertainment and education, which is beneficial. There is no reason to fear the Web, can be safe and secure.
