More than anything else, the main goal of ergonomics team to work to reduce repetitive stress injuries that can result from regular use of a computer and related equipment. Through this article, a brief description of repetitive stress injuries is provided, particularly as these injuries relate to the ergonomic use of computers and computer.

In general, repetitive strain injuries are mentioned by many experts in the field of ergonomics team as cumulative trauma disorders. As the name indicates, the key to understand and appreciate the cumulative trauma disorders shows that are in fact cumulative. In other words, these lesions develop overtime repetitive movements, forced efforts, working in awkward positions, as well as compression and vibration.

Most people assume that when it comes to cumulative trauma disorders, exposure to the source of a trauma must be for an extended period of time. In many cases, this assumption proves correct. However, in reality, it is impossible to develop cumulative trauma disorders after exposure to a source in a matter of weeks. As a result, it really is important for a person to follow the suggestions of the ergonomics team of specialists.

The symptoms of repetitive strain injuries or cumulative trauma disorders include pain, tissue swelling, numbness, tingling, unusual, restriction of movement of natural joints and, ultimately, decreased dexterity.

If, indeed, experience one or more of these symptoms, it is imperative to seek medical attention promptly and immediately. By seeking medical care in the first instance, is much more likely to relieve symptoms and underlying traumatic condition. In addition, by seeking immediate medical attention, which are much more likely to avoid more invasive medical procedures such as surgery to fix an injury or illness.

When all is said and done, repetitive stress injuries or cumulative trauma disorders are simply not matters to be taken lightly. Rather, as noted above, if you feel that you are suffering from one or other of the symptoms described in this article, you must lose no time in obtaining medical care and assistance. In addition, as noted, can prevent or reduce harmful side effects of computer use, following the guidelines established by experts in the field of computer ergonomics. Indeed, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure in the case of cumulative trauma disorders.
