THE EVIDENCE OF A CHANGED LIFE
Because you pray, fast, go to church does not mean your life has changed. No wonder many Christians still behave like sinners and unbelievers. You may pray, fast, go to church and even preach and still not experience a changed life but you cannot have a changed life and not do all these things; you cannot have a changed life and not pray, that is communicate with God your father because prayer is a commandment. Matthew 6 vs. 7 says WHEN YE PRAY? not if ye pray. Fasting is also a commandment, that is it is compulsory, Matthew 6 vs. 16. You cannot have a changed life and not fast, you cannot have a changed life and not boldly talk about JESUS and the scriptures, you cannot have a changed life and not live Holy.
So by the grace of God I shall be giving you the salient evidences of a changed life, watch out for them.
A changed life is impossible without Jesus Christ in your life. That is without being born again you are like a corpse still walking on the streets. Ecclesiastes 9 vs. 4 says to him that is joined to the living God there is Hope.
If you don?t believe in the reality of Heaven and Hell you better ask anybody who once died but miraculously came back to life. There is another life after now.
The evidence of a changed life is the presence of the nine fruit of the Holy Spirit in a person. It is not nine fruits but one fruit with nine parts.
Galatians 5 vs. 22 to 23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
He that is born again does not sin because the seed of God dwells in Him. It is this seed that produces the fruit of the Spirit. They include LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, TEMPERANCE. These nine virtues must be present in your life. Let us now look at them one after the other;
1. LOVE; no matter what you do, if it is not done in love it is vain. 1st Corinthians 13 was heavy on this subject. Love is the greatest gift. Evil is rampant because love is scarce. You have to love God first with all your heart, soul and mind, then you should love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22 vs. 37. Are you operating in love? If you are not then in the name of Jesus Christ receive a fresh baptism of the love of God.
2. JOY; joy is different from happiness. Happiness occurs when there is something good happening. But joy is there no matter the happenings. Joy is a compulsory requirement for carrying the presence of God. Psalms 16 vs.11. And if God is for you nothing will be able to stand against you. Without joy in your heart at all times. you cannot totally experience a changed life. In any form of challenge be of good cheer and solutions will appear. That solution you have been looking for will appear in the name of Jesus.
3. PEACE; when you are at rest peacefully no matter what then you know you are living a changed life. When you are at rest you provoke God to act on your behalf. Be still in your heart and you will see God?s intervention. Psalm 46 vs. 10
4. LONG SUFFERING; this is patience and endurance combined with hope. To endure means to carry on no matter what is going on. God?s word will never fail. Something has not happened does not mean nothing is happening. Wait for it; it will come to pass in Jesus name.
5. GENTLENESS; you must always carry a calm attitude even amidst pressures. Refuse to be rash and hasty no matter the situation.
6. GOODNESS; Try and avoid anything evil. Anything that you cannot declare boldly in church as a testimony or you cannot let the public know please abstain from. Always do good. If it is good go for it. And do not be tired of doing good because in due season you will reap if you faint not. Galatians 6 vs. 9
7. FAITH; the just shall live by faith. Faith is a living force drawn from the living word that commits God to perform. A changed life is a life of faith. You must learn how to walk by faith and not by sight. Believe God for everything. Fear must give way so that faith will spear head the events of your life. Whenever faith is in control, God is in control. But when fear is around the devil is about to take charge so you must boldly stand and obey Gods word which is faith.
8. MEEKNESS; Meekness is humility in action. A changed person must be humble. It is humility that attracts the grace of God. God will always resist the proud but gives more grace to the humble.1st peter 5 vs. 5
9. TEMPERANCE; Temperance simply means moderation in everything you do. It also means total abstinence from alcohol. A changed life does not drink beer or gin or alcoholic content.
Receive grace and start watching out for the fruit of the Spirit at work in your life. As these fruit surfaces people will be attracted to you. Whatsoever you lay your hand to do will prosper in Jesus Precious name Amen.
