In today's competitive business environment, it is essential to find ways to reduce costs and increase revenue while maintaining high productivity and quality. One of the best ways to achieve this is through the recruitment and retention of outstanding employees.

Too often hiring managers tip through the recruitment process due to being more reactive than proactive in filling the positions. With a little advanced planning in the procurement process and implementation of sound strategies once people join her organization, which will lower the cost of doing business for considerable sums.

As he prepares to rent the following:

• What kind of person you are looking for?
• What are the values ??that drive your business?
• How difficult is the job you are filling?
• Does anyone internally who can do the job?
• How long it takes to find the right person for the job?
• What are you willing to negotiate with potential candidates?

In the search for potential candidates might want to try more than the pursuit of traditional employees. Tap into your network of professional contacts. Some of their best candidates may be working for the competition. Be careful when hiring someone just for being a friend or relative. Not that friends and relatives do not make good employees - can often be fantastic. And yet, if you are hiring just because it is a friend or relative, you are preparing for big problems. With the moral wrong decision with other employees can be downloaded. With the correct choice is equally likely to go up.

Think of the compensation package. Is it fair wages for labor, industry and market? Make sure your benefit package is competitive for your industry. Find out what other companies are offering respect to compensation and to consider matching or beating their bids.

There are times when someone can take a position without thinking about the income, profits or desirable. Once they arrived, they settled in and comfortable with the position and the company can realize the compensation and the work is not all that could be. That may cause some discontent on their part. To avoid this, do your homework.

Another key to keeping good employees is to make sure they are treated with respect, dignity and recognition. This may seem like common sense, however, often not the case. I consult with various types of employee retention and how organizations for greater commitment by staff. Often an individual will meet privately with a cross section of staff. I spend at least an hour with each of the workers in a confidential meeting to determine their point of view of the company. Inevitably, the areas most needed for the employee are fully satisfied with the communication and appreciation.
