Network marketing, or "MLM" can be a great way to make everything from a little extra income to the generous full time living.

However, many people join mlm type opportunities without really knowing what they are getting themselves to. This is probably one of the biggest reasons that some people have very low thoughts of this kind of business.

MLM works if you do it right. Period. That said, here are seven reasons poor to enroll in a network marketing opportunity:

1) "easy money"

I know - the MLM-companies are very good promotion of your business as a simple 1-2-3 process that anyone can do and become an instant millionaire. Especially online, it has almost become a standard for use and totally overrated super long sales letters.

This is equivalent to say that anyone can open a can of beans can be a great chef.

Do not get me wrong, I think most people in MLM can do if they put their mind to it. However, you must be prepared to learn many new things and you have to work for it. Make no mistake about it!

2) the expectation that "spill over" do all the work

Many MLM opportunities are based on what is called a "forced matrix". For example, in a 3x9 matrix, when it sponsored its first three new members, the room will be placed in the first person you sponsored. This person is charging a person in your downline without any effort on your part.

Now, some companies would have you believe that your best recruiters are so effective that spill over marketing will make you automatically, which are joined at the bottom now, an immediate success.

This is simply an impossible dream - will not happen again. Yes, you will probably get a few people spread their downline, but nowhere near enough to ensure its success. The total width of the matrix of their level, then there is a huge number of representatives who will have to cut any amount of spread.

Who says that top recruiters are as active as before, where anyway? Worst case, they are now working on something completely different, because their income in this particular opportunity is already secured.

3) To think that a product is so great that it sells itself

This is a classic mistake, because most MLM systems are simply not really about the product. This is hard to swallow, I know.

As a rookie I remember being part of this lottery syndicate-mlm, thinking that "everyone" would like more chances to win the lottery - right? The disappointment was huge when I discovered the truth - some people even made fun of any attempt to talk about this great new thing he had discovered.

Also in mlm, no matter if you are selling an innovative product that contains all the minerals and vitamins in the sun - if you do not understand what network marketing is really all about.

4) Make an old friend a favor

We've all been there - an old friend you have not known for years who suddenly calls you and wants to organize a meeting on something that will give more information about when you meet ...

I'm not saying that this could not be a potentially good business. But to call all your friends is a very effective way to do MLM, and should never join a unique opportunity to do someone a favor. Because ultimately this is you, your money and career.

5) make money in a short period of time

Most MLM testimonials always seems that something like this:

- In my first month I made $ 800 and now in my third month, I was able to quit my job, etc ...

While no lies, testimonials like these are usually collected from persons who, by luck or skill, managed to join this particular opportunity from the beginning. They are simply at the top of the pyramid and often know exactly what they are doing - the're mlm experts.

Like most of the offers, MLM opportunities have a life cycle that grows quickly in the beginning. During this phase of explosive growth that can be very easy to sponsor dozens of new people per day, with relatively little effort. After all, this is something completely new and well-placed ad can do wonders.

However, if you enroll after this initial burst, it is much harder to see quick results and requires a greater effort to attract new people into the business. The patience, knowledge and the proper strategy is needed to succeed here.

6) Big name X endorses this program

This is somewhat akin to the previous point. Mr. Big Hitter have made thousands of dollars with this opportunity and no longer ashamed to tell anyone how easy it was. And probably not a lie either. It was easy - for him.

Because, as noted above, is likely to be involved in this opportunity long before it was released to the general public, because he knows all the right people.

He (or she) also know what they do, and have the resources (large mailing lists, advanced marketing tools on the Internet, etc.) to quickly and efficiently the floor to a large number of people.

If you're relatively new to this game is a very bad idea to assume that you can instantly remove feats worthy of a network marketing guru. Would you compare your skills to play golf from Tiger Woods?

I do not think so.

7) Think that this is free to run a business

I'm not talking about the membership fee of your MLM opportunity here, because that's a fact. But many people mistakenly believe they can market for free over the Internet.

While there are some effective low-cost Internet marketing techniques you can use, you should never fool yourself into believing that online marketing will be an issue at no cost. In addition, the online competition is usually quite strong.

In summary, MLM can offer an exciting new way to make money. However, their motivation for joining an MLM business should not be based on one of the errors mentioned above.

Treat your business like a business, and they are okay.
