So you think you're not forced to take time out of your business because you are self-employed? Here are five great reasons why you should certainly go on vacation:

1. Physical downtime
You work hard to grow and maintain your business. Trying to be superhuman certainly take its toll, if you let it. Give your body a break taking in some R & R.

2. Mental downtime
Their days are filled with busy, sometimes hectic, day to day business activities. If you do not let you get away from time to time, tranquility and general welfare of those who suffer most definitely. Go out and play. Your mind will thank you!

3. Spend time with your loved ones
Your family and friends see you working, working, working, sometimes, rarely comes up for air. Both you and we can appreciate spending some quality time together.

4. Seeing the world (or your own backyard)
The important thing is to do something you like, whether travel or, if that is not your cup of tea or you do not have the budget for it, spending time at home. If you also work outside the home, this might be a challenge. The key is to stay out of his office during their vacation time. Try to be creative with this. Make your office "off limits" to close the door and placing a sign on it. Whatever it takes to keep your mind working. How about a hobby or a day trip to the beach? Think about what you can do within your budget that is fun. Or do nothing at all!

5. You have a life
Although this is a no-brainer, I'm surprised the amount of small business owners do not feel as if they deserve a break. Not much to do and not enough hours in the day to do everything. Well I have news for you. There will always feel that way! Only you have the power to allow yourself time off. Even if you prefer to take only one day here and day there instead of one week (or more) of vacation each year, which is much better than ever to take time off. Trust me, you'll feel better about yourself and your work if you take regular vacation time. You'll be healthier, too!
